There‘s no better way to get out on the water and enjoy some of Washington’s “good news” on salmon fishing than the Northwest Salmon Derby Series. Directed by the Northwest Marine Trade Association, and presented by Traveler’s Insurance, the 2008 Derby Series features 14 derbies held throughout Washington and Oregon beginning in February and running through September. For the second year in a row, the Derby Series will give away two boats at the conclusion of the derbies in September at Edmonds.
The Grand Prize Boat is a fully outfitted boat, motor and trailer package valued at more than $70,000. Anglers can win this boat by participating in one or more of the 14 tournaments in the 2008 Derby Series. Youngsters who participate in the Kids’ Division at one or more of the derbies qualify for a chance to win a boat, motor and trailer valued at $12,000, too.
