Inboard Ski/Wakeboard Boats

Print

Inboard propulsion delivers the power to tow skiers and boarders and the speed that makes tricks, jumps and other feats possible. However, while wakeboard and ski boats look similar, skiers and boarders have opposing goals.
Wakeboarders want a giant wake to launch from as they cross from left to right behind the boat. Featuring V-drive engines set close to the transom and wide, deep hulls, inboard wakeboard boats carve the steep, large wakes that riders love.
Waterskiers want acceleration, and as little wake as possible. Underneath the water, the shape of the hull and the configuration and placement of the engine, propeller and drive shaft cause inboard ski boats to throw a slight wake that is easy for a skier to cross. They accelerate rapidly to “pop” skiers from the water and turn crisply.
