Pride-Celebrations

1. Washington D.C. – Pride on the Pier

In the heart of our nation's capitol is Pride on the Pier, taking place at The Wharf on Saturday, June 8, from 2-10 p.m. And if you're not familiar, the Wharf is beyond beautiful and the perfect spot for celebrating Pride.

The historic fish market and bustling docks and marinas set the scene. You can even boat up from anywhere on the Potomac River to join the activities. There will also be live music, dancing, and other entertainment options. And the best part? It's family-friendly, so bring your entire crew!

2. St. Pete, Florida – Pride Parade Day Festival

Mark your calendars! Florida's largest LGBTQIA+ celebration, the St. Pete Pride Parade Festival, kicks off on June 22 at 2:00 p.m. This free event starts with the 6th annual Trans March, followed by an exciting lineup featuring performers like Saucy Santana, live music, vendors, and delicious food trucks.

It's more than just a parade! The festival brings the neighborhood together at North and South Straub waterfront park for a day of fun and community building. Feel free to hang out by the water or enjoy the festivities from your boat.

3. Annapolis, Maryland – Bike Party Pride Ride from Acton Cove Waterfront Park

Looking for a relaxed way to celebrate Pride? Join Annapolis Pride's Bike Party Pride Ride, launching from the scenic Acton Cove Waterfront Park on Friday, June 28, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Annapolis is famous for its waterfront accessibility — so bring your boat and join the festivities — or hop on a water taxi if you'd rather relax and enjoy the ride.

This leisurely bike ride aims to bring together the community for a fun evening exploring Annapolis' beautiful waterfront. It's a great way to connect with fellow allies, enjoy the sights, or take a boat ride afterward. And don't forget to check out other events celebrating Pride in the area on their website!

4. New York City – Pride at the Seaport Museum

The Seaport Museum in New York City kicks off Pride Weekend with a splash, hosting a series of exciting Pride celebrations on the water near the Financial District! Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 29, because the Rainbows on the Hudson Pride Parade sets sail at 1 p.m.
This annual floating celebration boasts over 30 boats cruising the Hudson. Want to be part of the action? The museum offers unique tickets to join the procession on two vessels: the historic 1885 Schooner Pioneer or the classic tugboat W.O. Decker!

5. Norfolk, Virginia - Pride Weekend

On Virginia's eastern shore, Norfolk offers another year of Pride celebrations on boats! Celebrating its 36th year, the Hampton Roads PrideFest takes place at Town Point Park on Saturday, June 22, from 12-7 p.m. (And hosts the nation's only Pride Boat Parade!)

The parade has been a tradition since 2011 and is the festival's highlight. There, you'll witness a display of boats of all sizes and types floating across the water, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and Norfolk's rich maritime history. So, whether you register your boat to participate, join a boat ride or cheer from the shore, the choice is yours!

6. Galveston, Texas – Gay Pride Beach Weekend

If you cannot attend any of these June Pride celebrations, you should check out other year-round festivities! For example, Orlando Pride is held on National Coming Out Day in October.

In addition, Galveston, Texas, throws fantastic Pride celebrations! Their Gay Pride Beach Weekend happens during Labor Day weekend (August 30), so if you're interested, book your accommodations soon!

We had to include Galveston because it's a famous beach town, and its festivities are a whole-weekend extravaganza. Kick things off with the Mister & Miss Pride Pageant on Friday, then hit the Beach Bash on Saturday and the annual pool party on Sunday. It's a jam-packed weekend of Pride celebrations!
