Youth Boating Organizations

The ACA works with the community to offer instructor programs, certification, and events for youth.

The ASA's Future Fisherman Foundation offers a variety of fishing and boating programs, equipment, and services to community groups and schools across the country.

Each year, the AZA trains more than 400,000 teachers, supports science curricula with teaching materials, and offers hands-on opportunities to study the natural world for more than 12,000,000 students.

The ASTA's Tall Ships® Youth Adventure (TSYA) program promotes leadership and youth development for 12 to 18 year olds, who train together aboard large sailing vessels they also offer local events and scholarships to qualified applicants. 

BASS Youth introduces and educates kids about the sport of fishing. This groups hosts youth fishing tournaments, teaches a "casting kids" program, conservation, and holds an annual youth casting competition.

Boat U.S. makes it easier for families to boat safely by hosting a national life jacket loaner program—at more than 350 sites around the country, parents can borrow life jackets for kids age 12 and younger for a day or weekend of boating.

Serving youth from birth to 21, Camp Fire USA helps boys and girls learn - and play - side by side in comfortable, informal settings, youth meet regularly in small groups with other youth and participate in a variety of activities.

DLITE supports public speaking events and activities geared toward getting people on water.

The Girl Scout program provides girls ages 5-17 with a wide variety of opportunities and activities including swimming, boating, science, conservation, and safety.

The Judd Goldman Junior Sailing Program (JGJSP) was developed to teach sailing to eight- to twelve-year-old Chicago inner-city youths. The fleet consists of Vanguard Prams, 7' 7" boats, widely used throughout the world in teaching beginners how to sail.

Kids Aboard offers kid-friendly articles on boating, sailing, and fishing. Kids Aboard also runs the Kids Aboard Academic Boat Building Workshop. Designed for youth, ages 6–17, these hands-on workshops show kids the practical applications of everything from math to science to writing and publishing through the fun activity of building a boat.

The Maryland Costal Bays Program provides free, hands-on, environmental education experiences, including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water quality monitoring, hiking, and more, to community organizations.

The NOAA offers educational opportunities and curricula for kids of all ages, from kindergarten through high school, to learn about oceans and coastal environments.

The NSBC's Boating Sidekicks website is designed to inform and educate children about safe boating practices. The site is full of games, activities, and useful information with links to related Web sites.

The Take Me Fishing's Passport to Fishing & Boating Program is available to all schools and youth organizations and features six different "hands-on" stations with activities focused on fishing, boating and aquatic stewardship.

Royal Rangers is a ministry that reaches across the United States and in over 65 nations around the world. It motivates boys spiritually, mentally and physically and includes great outdoor adventures through camping, water activities, hiking and more.

With hands-on living classroom experiences, positive reinforcement, and practical problem solving, Sea Quest KidsTM learn cooperation, and team effort through a variety of projects including ship construction, powerboat and sailboat racing, safety instruction, fishing and more.

Sea Scouts, is a coed outdoor program for young adults 14 - 20 years old, who love boats and the water and want to learn about sailing, powerboating, rafting and other water-based activities.

Shake-A-Leg Miami builds friendships, instills confidence, teaches skills, and provides hope and new opportunities through boating experiences and education.

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary courses, taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors, provide instruction to boaters at all levels, from beginners to advanced. They also offer youth programs targeted at children aged 4-9 or 10-12 years.

The US Army Corp of Engineers produces age specific, Spanish/ English, educational materials and educational outreach in schools and communities.

USA Water Ski promotes the growth and development of recreational water skiing to kids through ski clinics, events, camps and partnerships with schools, clubs, and other organizations.

United States Power Squadrons (USPS), also known as "America's Boating Club" is a national volunteer organization that is dedicated to teaching safe boating through education like instructor certification, camp partnerships, education/safety, and boating courses.

YMCAs serve America's children, families and communities by “building healthy spirit, mind and body for all” with many youth-oriented activities, including aquatic programs.
